Olive Devices Turns One Today!

Happy Birthday!

Today marks our one year anniversary of filing for incorporation!

Filling for an LLC is pretty easy nowadays and may not seem like a big deal to many people, but for me this was the first big step in believing that I could make Olive Devices my career. Some of you reading this may have just found us, others may know me personally and have been following us since before inception. No matter who you are, I want to personally thank you all for your support!

As in every start-up, creating a company going is a long, hard road, but if we persist it can be very rewarding. The team we have now is very different than the team we had a year ago. The product we are working on now is also very different than it was a year ago. In a growing company, things change fast and often.

The product that became Olive Devices a year ago, started off as a crazy concept for smart glasses that would caption voicemail and groups. I conducted interviews, literature reviews, and refined designs over and over again to evolve the product into a device that would assist with deaf and hard of hearing education.

After graduation, things changed. I had to look at the company in a new light. Going from design student, to owning and running a business I learned a lot and learned a lot very fast."The notes that I have received from many of you on how the product can make a difference in the way people experience the world, and your belief in our ability to make these products a reality is what keeps me going.

Now, we are developing our first product, FreeBell, to enhance the sound localization properties, evolve for captioning, identification and more! We are gearing up for our first official rounds of user testing. Adrien is working on getting working prototypes together. I am working on building new mock-ups and we’re in the process of some new and very exciting transitions.

Things are always evolving and we love to keep you all involved as much as possible! Within the next coming months you should be seeing new updates. I encourage you, if you aren’t yet, start followings us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Wherever you find us, I encourage you to share your experiences and your thoughts!

All my love goes out to all of our readers and supporters!

Have a loving week!
